Vithagan is a film acted and directed by Parthiban. While speaking about this film he said, “I had planned to produce and act in this film two years back itself. I made debut as an action hero in the film Pudhiya Parvai. Rajnikanth after seeing this film said, “You have achieved in your first film itself what I have achieved after acting in 25 films”. After this I directed Pondatti Thevai, Sugamana Kanuvugal and House Full. But I incurred heavy losses. There is no respect for talent in cinema. The earlier victory is only taken into account. So I am making this film which will be a hit. There will no double meaning dialogues like in the film Ulle Velliye. Technical aspects are being given more importance in this film. M S Prabhu is handling the camera.

Joshua Sridhar is composing the music for this film. The film is being made at a cost of Rs 7 Crores. I am making this film keeping in mind that only profit is the success of a film. There are fighting sequences, comedy scenes and sentiments. The hero will not hit fifty people at a time in the fighting scenes. These scenes are being shot in a innovative way. The songs will attract the youth as well as the elderly people. I am donning the role of police officer with the ability who bump off the hardcore criminals who are harassing the innocent people. Millind Soman is doing the villain role while Poorna is donning the role of a Christian girl Mercy.”
