After Pattalam, Nadhiya had lot of offers but she has turned down them all.But she has agreed now to act in the film directed by Mysskin. Cheran who is in the lead role is donning the role of a CBI officer. This film is titled Yuddham Sei. Nasar and Nadhiya are in important roles. Sathya who was an assistant to the famous cinematographer is handling the camera.

Kay is composing the music. A new face is debuting as heroine. Mysskin says that he will introduce her to the media after christening her a new name. The shooting of the film is commence next month. (KT)

Artistes turn furious on actress’ brothel case issue

The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) and human rights organization staged a protest on Wednesday at South Indian Film Artistes’ Association, Chennai condemning a report on actors published in a Tamil daily recently.

Actors including Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Surya, Karthi Sivakumar, Arun Vijay, Radhika, Revathi, Sripriya, Uravasi and directors Selvamani, Cheran, Ramesh Kanna were among those who took part in the protest. South Indian Film Artistes’ Association president R. Sarath Kumar and its secretary Radha Ravi also participated.

Stressing the need for exercising restraint while, publishing reports on actors, Rajinikanth said that it is important for newspapers, to become sensitive to the emotions of people, when publishing defamatory reports. Actor Surya and director Selvamani suggested that FEFSI should have legal cell to deal with such reports.

Actor turned politician Vijayakanth said that press freedom should not be misused and media should avoid hurting sentiments of people. Actors Revathi, Seetha, Rohini and Nalini condemned the media report and urged the film industry to stay united in times of crises.

Earlier, members from All India Democratic Women’s Association and women members of FEFSI raised slogans against the Tamil daily and demanded legal action against those responsible for the report.

Director Cheran was spotted meeting his son Aryan with a emotional situation that rippled the people’s attention all towards them across the Port of Malaysia. Quite wondering isn’t? Maybe or May not be, that’s not the equation to sort it right now. This is all about the climax shot of this film canned at Malaysia.

Cheran was on verge of completing his penultimate as well climax portions in the final schedule and flew along with his crew to the foreign land. Source have stated that the film’s next-to-last minutes have been shot extensively at airport and port lanes of Malaysia that eventually draws towards climax. The scene is about a port engineer (Cheran) meeting his son (Aryan Rajesh). Earlier Cheran had mentioned that as Aryan looks more similar to the looks of Cheran, he opted him for this role.

The old lovers of Thavamai Thavamirunthu, Padmapriya and Cheran are together again in the very romantic Pokkisham.

The film set in the 70’s is a love story between a Hindu boy working in Kolkata and a Muslim girl in Nagore.

The musical album of the film by Sabesh Murali has 11 numbers! However Cheran says there are only 3 full songs and 4 bits in the film. One of the slow romantic songs written by Yugabharathi, Nila Nee Vaanam…. , sung by Vijay Yesudas and Chinmayee will pull at your heart strings and is a sure chartbuster.

Says Cheran: “It is musically going to be different. We have tinkered with the format of the songs, by not following the regular pattern of Pallavi, Anu Pallavi,and Saranam format. The songs have been composed in a way to suit the romantic mood and feel of the story.”

It is a very romantic love story that unfolds through love letters. Says Cheran: “ It will whip up nostalgia among the viewers, and I’ am sure a lot of people will yearn for the good old 70’s and 80’s when falling in love and keeping it alive was tough, especially if the couple were separated by long distance. In comparison today you can chat through the internet or send SMS, very easy methods as technology have spoiled the feel and anguish of love.”

Simran, Nadia, Devayani and Ramya Krishnan may be making waves in their second innings as heroines and supportive roles, but director Cheran isn’t pleased with any of these ladies being a part of his film!

It seems that Cheran who is scouting for a yesteryear actress to play the crucial mother’s role in his new film Pokkisham, is not keen on casting any of these heroines who have been doing many movies now.

So, it is learnt that the director approached actress Radha to play the mother’s role for Pokkisham. But the director was in for a surprise when he spoke to her, as the actress is said to have asked for a sum which was almost equivalent to that of what the movie’s heroine Padmapriya was to get.

So Cheran’s search for the character is still on.
