Nine Months after the alleged sex scandal involving her with self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda broke out, actress Ranjitha made her first public appearance on December 30, 2010 (Friday) and denied she was the woman in the much-hyped video, contrary to Nithyananda’s admission to Karnataka CID interrogators in April 2010 that during her stay at his Bidadi ashram for more than a year, he ‘had sex with her many times’.
Claiming that she had been made a scapegoat because she was a celebrity, the actress said she had started visiting the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam on the outskirts of Bangalore a little over a year ago after she was impressed by the yoga, meditation and other spiritual activities taking place in the ashram.
However, the very next day, the actress attended the 34th birthday of Nithyananda on January 1st, 2011 Saturday. She also took part in Anandotsava programme, held as part of the birthday celebrations, and showed Karpoora Aarathi to Nithyananda who was dressed up like God Perumal.
Recently Ranjitha is said to have moved into a new apartment in Chennai, T.Nagar. Though she could manage to hide herself inside the room during the day time in the beginning, few residents located her indeed. Following that the neighbours of Ranjitha’s new rental residence have strongly opposed her for staying there and compelling her to vacate the house immediately.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a resident said, “Yes. We have requested Ranjitha to Vocate the house immediately as the residents of the apartment are reputed family women and her stay may create unwanted problems”.(KT)

A new Tamil film Kudiyarasu is based on investigative journalism. The story is about a bold journalist who tries to expose an influential politician. Vigneshwaran plays the role of the journalist. The story unfolds in a single day, and is directed by National kickboxing champion Shabir Hussain, who is also one of the producers of the film. Says Shabir Hussain: "What happens in a day is the story of the film. The Watergate scandal where two journalists exposed the then US president Richard Nixon is the insipiration for my story. The film proves the pen is mightier than the sword." The film has also Suguna, Deepa, Suresh, Nizhalgal Ravi and Sethu Vinayakam in the cast. Karthik Raja has composed music forKudiyarasu and is scheduled to release this Friday (Feb 13).
Kushboo had a bad experience on Sunday as she was molested in public in Broad daylight. According to sources, Kushboo was standing in front of her house gate in order to have a glimpse of late actor Nagesh, whose body was passing by in a procession for the cremation ceremony. At around 11 am the body passed from the front of the gate of Kushboo’s house and so the actress was standing in from front of her gate in order to pay respect for the versatile actor. One of a youth appeared from behind of her and pulled her hair down very hard. Reacting to the deed, Kushboo shouted till her voice could support and alerted her husband Sundar nearby. The angry man came and bashed two males standing near Kushboo. Later on it was discovered that the culprit has disappeared into the crowd and unnecessarily two innocent males beard that grunt of Sundar’s anger.
