I’m lucky to be part of Shankar’s film’; says Chaya Singh

The good looking actress Chaya Singh who plays a lead role in Shankar’s latest production venture ‘Ananthapurathu Veedu’, a horror film which is hitting the screens today says “When I believe in God, I should also believe in ghosts because there has always been good and bad in the world.”

The actress says “At the same time, I am not so scary about the evil elements because I am a strong believer of the Almighty. I firmly believe that He will save me from all troubles and turmoil, if any.”

On speaking about her film, Chaya says “The movie will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. But there are no gory scenes. It will entirely work on the psychology of the viewers.”

Without any confusion, Chaya Singh is one of the actresses trying to make a come back, a second innings in films.

After her super sizzling dance for the song "Manmadharaasaa," she wash ailed as the next dream girl. But things do not always turn out as we expect and Chaya joined the list of 2 film wonders. Through 'Vallamai Tharayo,' she is all ready for the next round. She is acting in Shankar's production 'Anandhapurathu Veedu.' Directed by Naga, this is a thriller film with kids. What character does she play? "One who spoils yet is afraid. I am sure this role will fetch me a good name. The film itself is a wonderful film," she said.

Other heroines have 5 to 6 films a year. How come you don't have such offers?"How do you know I did not get any offers? Of course I've received many offers and heard many stories but I'm determined to act only in good story films. So I'm being very selective. 'Vallamai Tharayo' has a good story line.'Anandhapurathu Veedu' has a lovely story. I can wait for films with good story lines."

Chaaya Singh's claustrophobia

Anandapurathu Veedu is Shankar's S Pictures' next venture. Directed by Naaga of the television sitcom Marmadesam fame, the movie has Nanda and Chaaya Singh in the lead. Chaaya plays a claustrophobic girl in the movie, the first schedule of which was shot in Cochin recently. Songs and scenes involving Nanda and Chaaya were shot during the first leg schedules in Cochin. Second schedule is proposed to start from February 2009.

Shankar has reportedly viewed the rushes and has given his vote of confidence to director Naaga. Anandapurathu Veedu is Naaga's debut directorial venture, who is synonymous with some great thriller sitcoms of the nineties' television.
