South cinema has always been in the forefront for navel shows. While it is a common feature in Mollywood and Kollywood, Tollywood heroines have been very selective in showing their navels on screen.

Lately there have been no 'navel-showing beauties' in Telugu worth mentioning after Mumaith, Ramya Krishnan and few others. Given the way Raghavenda Rao and the rest of the "Jhummandi Naadam" team is promoting Tapsee, the actress may soon become the next Ramya Krishna of Tollywood.

The actress has been depicted in the sexiest way possible in the film and the promos and posters already suggests that there is a treat waiting for all navel lovers. Tapsee is also enjoying all the attention and can be expected to become the most sought after 'belly-button' beauty. (TO)

From June 24th, deepika will be in the Hyderabad city for participating in the item song. Ram sampath is the music composer for this love story based film. Item songs are the present craze of tollywood. A couple of years ago, if a B grade movie had a mass number with Mumaith Khan in the lead it was tagged as a hit. People used to watch Mumaith and the movie used to get back its investments. Now, the trend has changed as the audiences prefer regular actresses with some glam value in the item songs. For this reason, Jayanth C Paranjay who directed hit movies like “Bavagaru bagunnara” has planned an item number with bollywood hit actress deepika Padukone. All these directors many Telugu directors and producers were eyeing the sexy lass as a lead female in their respective films. But Jayanth has managed to fetch Deepika at a fair price.

Shooting and post-production formalities are complete for Target directed by Ramesh Raja and jointly produced by Sangisetty Dasaratha and B Ramakrishna under the banner of Sri Siri Sai Surya with Mumaith Khan in the lead role and the film is all set for release.

Producer says, “We have decided to release the film on April 24.”

Presenter of the film Pratani Ramakrishna Goud says, “It is a different film based on ‘Marma Kala’. Mumaith is playing the role of a person who takes revenge against people who did injustice to her sister. The way she chases the villains will be Novel and different. Viswajit Pradhan will be playing the main villain and the climax scenes that have been shot on him and Mumaith Khan would remain a highlight. The performance of Siva Balaji, who plays a CBI officer, and Shraddha Das’ glamour would be added attractions. Ramesh Raja has moulded the film from a different point and angle which has never before been seen on the Telugu screen. The total cost of production is over Rs 3 crore. We are releasing the film with 100 prints across the state on April 24.”

Mumaith is all set to arrive with the movie ‘Punnami Nagu’ and she had sent a hot message by coming up with a hot bikini song in the film, the photos of which have been circulating across various websites. This has been canned by the veteran Kodhandarami Reddy who did the same act for the sexy siren Shraddha Arya.

However, reports have been coming in that the bikini effect of Mumaith has not been so impressive and many are heard saying that they would love to see someone like Nayantara and Anushka in bikini than Mumaith. In fact, whatever Mumaith has shown all these days is seen again in bikini. Hence nothing new is striking the eyes of people. So it looks like the item queen’s hot efforts seem to have gone in vain.

Item girl Mumaith Khan is acting in a character role in the film Target which is set to release on March 20. Ramesh Raja is the director of Target which has Siva Balaji and Shraddha Das as the lead pair. Mumaith is said to have a meaty role in the film and the item girl is all set graduate into an actress.

Touted as an racy action packed romantic entertainer, the film is said to be inspired from the Hollywood film Basic Instinct and Mumaith is doing the role originally done by Sharon Stone. Koti has scored the music for the film. Other members of the cast include Krishna Bhagawan, Venu Madhav, Riyaz Khan, Jeeva and Geetha Singh.

Basic Instinct, directed by Paul Verhoeven was released in 1992. Sharon Stone played the role of a mysterious and dangerous writer which instantly catapulted her in to the league of the most sought after stars. Although surrounded by controversy, Basic Instinct was hugely successful with collections over $353 million worldwide.

She is currently known as the item queen of the southern circuit and though she has few item songs to get over with she has already been offered few plum chances to act and off late, she has become more of an actress than an item girl from Bollywood. However, Mumaith makes it a point to be there in quality banners and shake a leg.

Now, she is all set to arrive with the new song which happens to be a remake of the blockbuster chart buster 'Bangaru Kodi Petta…' from the musical thriller 'Gharana Mogudu'. All this is happening for the new movie that Ram Charan Teja is the hero of and those who don't know, this is being directed by the tough task master S S Rajamouli.

Apparently, the original song had the famous Disco Shanti who did the jig with Chiru and now it has become obvious that folks are in the mood to compare and see whether Mumaith has the ability to beat the sensuality and sex appeal of Disco Shanti and her moves. The result will be known soon.

Malaiyur Mambattiyan released a few decades ago starring Thyagarajan and Saritha went on to become a great hit during those days. In fact this film gave Thyagarajan an identity and the film’s name was prefixed to his name. Now this film is being remade with his son Prashanth doing his dad’s role. Meera Jasmine will be his heroine. Story screenplay and direction will be taken care by Thyagarajan himself. This will be Prashanth’s home production. The main cast will be supported by Mumaith Khan, Kalabhavan Mani, Prakash Raj and Vadivelu. The team will shortly leave for Africa to can song sequences.

Shooting of Punnami Nagu with popular item girl Mumaith Khan in the title role, directed by A Kodandarami Reddy and produced by G Vijayakumar Goud under the banner of Sound and Claps was almost complete. Two songs were canned in Bangkok recently.

Producer commented, "The film would definitely attract the mass audiences. The entire film has been brought out as an entertainer and at the same time very exciting. We have remixed the popular song 'Ragulutondi Mogali Poda...' and choreographed on Rajiv Kanakala, Suhasini and Mumaith Khan. This song would remain a highlight in the flick. The visual effects for the film are being carried out in London.”

MS Narayana, Nalini, Suhasini, Vinodkumar, Nizhalgal Ravi and others are in the cast Camera is by PS Babu, story is by Yandamuri Virendranath, while music is by SA Rajkumar.
